A/B Test ItemView Animation

ItemView animation creates a smooth width transition between opening and closing an ItemView. This adheres to Material UI's concept of motion and allows for visual tracking on smaller screens when the ItemView takes the entire screen. However, it introduces a short delay in opening and closing the view that is most noticeable on lower end mobile devices.

A/B testing should be conducted to gauge user's preference in this case.

Not sure I care. IIRC, "recommendation is that we use the 'animation', right? so if there's no push, we should go with that...

It may be possible to proceed with the animation and plan to offer a per user settings toggle after #16 is completed.
