Welcome to the Physics-based & Bayesian Machine Learning (PBML) Lab 👋

Principal Investigator: Professor Sascha Ranftl
Location: School of Mechanical Engineering, Purdue University

Our research spans the full spectrum of scientific machine learning, bridging the gap between theoretical mathematics and applied engineering.

🔬 Core Research Areas

  • We develop the mathematical foundations for robust surrogate models, advanced approximations, and Bayesian frameworks capable of handling uncertainty and outliers.
  • We quantify uncertainties in haemodynamic simulations to support its credibility which in turn can supplement clinical decision-making.

Internal Lab Members: Please refer to the lab-handbook repository for onboarding instructions, HPC setup, and .gitignore data policies.
