Last Light Runner

Two-scene third-person zombie game for CSCI 43700. Retrieve a UV Power Core from an abandoned warehouse, then restore the citywide UV broadcast from a radio relay tower. Avoid the infected.

Built with Unity 6000.6.0f1 (URP, Input System, AI Navigation).

Windows build: LastLightRunner_Windows.zip (184 MB). Unzip it and run LastLightRunner.exe. Keep the LastLightRunner_Data folder next to the exe.

Walkthrough

The city's UV containment network has failed. The Runner has to bring it back.

Warehouse. Read the briefing terminal, find the Bolt Cutters, cut open the chained fuel cage and take the Generator Fuel. Fuel the generator to power the vault, take the UV Power Core and carry it to the UV Transit Gate at the loading dock.
Radio Relay Tower. Install the Core at the Main Relay Console. It reports two faults: find the Signal Amplifier and insert it, then calibrate the three antenna panels in the right order (a wrong order resets them). Activate the final broadcast at the top of the tower.

The infected patrol both levels. Getting caught sends you back to the start of the level. UV-lit spots are safe. Your inventory carries over between levels.

UML

LastLightRunner_ClassDiagram.png in the repo root covers every script in Assets/_Project/Scripts. The PlantUML source and an SVG are in Docs/UML/.

Setup

This repo does not include third-party Asset Store packs, because their license doesn't allow redistribution. After cloning:

Open the project in Unity 6000.6.0f1.
Import the packs below from the Unity Asset Store (Window → Package Manager → My Assets). Keep each one at its default import location.
Open Assets/_Project/Scenes/Warehouse.unity.

Until the packs are imported, models and prefabs that use them show up as missing.

Pack	Publisher	Import folder	Used for
Sci-Fi Warehouse Construction Kit	Sickhead Games	`Assets/SciFi Warehouse Kit/`	Warehouse level
Zombie Mutant Free	buxoided	`Assets/Zombie_Mutant/`	Infected model
HiTech SciFi Energy Cell	AntiDed GameDev	`Assets/HiTech/`	UV Power Core
Demo City By Versatile Studio	Versatile Studio	`Assets/Versatile Studio Assets/`	Radio Relay Tower city streets

The player and infected animations and the two characters (the player and one infected look) are from Mixamo and are included in Assets/_Project/Animations/. Their textures are extracted at 1024 px into Assets/_Project/Materials/Textures/.

One Mixamo file is not in the repo: Assets/_Project/Animations/Infected/Zombie Idle.fbx is 111 MB, over git's 100 MB file limit. To restore it, download it from Mixamo (character Ch10, animation Zombie Idle, format FBX for Unity, With Skin), rename it to Zombie Idle.fbx and put it in that folder. Its .meta file is in the repo, so the infected prefab and Animator pick it up again with no other changes. The playable build already includes it.
