Processing the Polaris Soil

Install

Clone this direction and cd into the base
run python -m pip install -e . or python -m pip install -e . --user

TIF Files

The file scripts/create_tif.py creates the tif files. We use the subprocess to launch parallel unpacking. The core code is contained in the "lib/polarissoil/tif" folder. That subdirectory contains all the code used to create the "tif" soil files.

Run "create_mask_file.py" to create Mask files for the parameters of interest
Run "run_extract_properties..." to create the tiff files using the Mask files previously generated. This also reads data from the ".../2020_POLARIS_SERIES/PROPERTIES/" directory. These files are saved in ".../2020_POLARIS_SERIES/POORDRN_MASK/OPTION1/".

XYZ Files

The file scripts/create_xyz.py creates the xyz files.
