The Migration of TI TivaWare to Rust-Based Embedded Systems for TM4C123 Tiva C MCU

This GitHub repository hosts the migrated TivaWare libraries, ported to Rust for the TM4C123 Tiva C microcontroller (MCU), along with tools for converting TivaWare C code to Rust.

OpenOCD 0.12 – An open-source debugger and JTAG/SWD interface for programming and debugging ARM-based microcontrollers.
arm-none-eabi-gdb 1.65 – The GNU Debugger (GDB) configured for ARM Cortex-M targets, used for low-level debugging and embedded development.
TI TM4C123GXL LaunchPad – A Texas Instruments development board featuring the TM4C123GH6PM microcontroller, commonly used for embedded applications.

Repository Contents

TivaWareRust Crate – A Rust-based demo crate that utilizes the TivaWare library, providing foundational support for embedded development with Rust on the TM4C123 MCU.
SysCtlDelay Test Crate – An implementation of the SysCtlDelay function written in Rust. Each loop iteration takes approximately 14–15 clock cycles. Therefore, to achieve a one-second delay, the function should be called as SysCtlDelay(CPU Clock / 14).
TivaWare C to Rust Conversion Tools – A set of tools designed to automate and facilitate the conversion of TivaWare C libraries into Rust-compatible modules.
TivaWare C Libraries – The original TivaWare C libraries, along with their Rust-converted counterparts.
